If you are interested in learning more about local climate issues and how to take action or are passionate about protesting- This tab is consistently updated with rallies/protest in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area, virtual conferences pertaining to local climate issues or in person conferences that are open invite! Attending these event are a great way to build your skills as a climate advocate. If you are looking for a group to protest with, I am usually at these events so feel free to get in touch so we can coordinate a meet up spot! This tab is also where I would like to highlight the importance of safe protesting, so if you have any questions about that please feel free to reach out!
Side-note: This photo on the left is of a climate strike I attended in 2021, where I had the privilege of seeing my long-time idol Jane Fonda speak on how different generation have taken on protesting and recounted her memory of the first climate protests! Super cool!

GLOBAL CONFERENCE IN CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

Global Conference in Climate Change and Environmental Engineering (GCCE-2023) is a platform for researchers, scientists, policymakers, and industry experts to share experiences and discuss research findings in the fields of climate change and environmental engineering. It provides networking opportunities and selected papers will be published in international journals. It is going to be super interesting and informative! Hope to see you there!

On his first day House Speaker Johnson passed a bill which slashes clean energy investments in IRA. It might be good news for Polluters but it's bad news for the rest of us!

THE FUTURE OF CLIMATE ACTION: HOW TO TACKLE SCOPE 3 GHGS

Location: Arlington County, Arlington, Virginia
This two day climate conference will focus entirely on the practical action business can take to tackle Scope 3 emissions. We’ll highlight leading company practices and assess how business transformation, supply chain innovation and low-carbon solutions can deliver results on the ground.
The conference will bring together an expert group of cross-industry practitioners. The focus throughout will remain on the practical steps business can take to engage key actors, decarbonize supply chains and achieve net zero.

The region of DC, Maryland, and Virginia is not currently experiencing many climate protests. However, when organizations such as Friday's For Future are in DC, this tab will provide details on the precise location of strikes (often, the websites for these protests, such as Friday's For Future, are difficult to follow), how to get ready for Friday strikes, ideas for signs, how to arrange absences with schools so they are excused, how to form protesting groups, and protest safety advice!
